Class II Rafting on the Micos River

Surrounded and immersed in exuberant vegetation, one of the few rapid rivers in Mexico with the following characteristics: the tour is 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) from the Micos water park, no previous experience is necessary; it is a scenic and fun descent.

If you have never done rafting, this is the perfect opportunity to become familiar with the activity on a very friendly and fun river.

Classification: II (in a hierarchy of I to VI).
Physical activity during the trip is low.
Children beginning at 7 years of age (subject to verification and depending on physical constitution)
Time required is a whole day.
Allows for excursion companions to enjoy the beautiful landscape as we perform the activity (different price).
This tour is only done during the rainy season (July-October), when the river may rise to the permitted level to perform the activity. In this situation, the rafting will be done on the Meco River as long as it complies with the adequate water level to perform the activity.
Requires a minimum of 6 passengers or 4 package buyers. If you do not comply with the previous, please contact us to check availability.

Adjustable sandals, water shoes, or tennis shoes that can get wet. NO CROCS. NO FLIP FLOPS.
Shorts or light pants for the activities (no jeans.) Lycra gym pants are ideal and help avoid occasional scrapes.
T-shirts made of lycra are preferable, and not cotton fabrics (any other fabric dries much faster)

Small backpack for personal items
Small towel
If you wear glasses, wear a holder so that they will not fall off in case you fall in the water.
If you have long hair, bring hair ties that will hold it back well.
The Huaxteca staff is certified in First Aid, and is equipped with a first aid kit, however for your own safety, we cannot administer medications, and therefore we recommend you bring your own.
Make sure to bring a change of dry clothes since during the majority of the activities you will get completely wet.
If you have food allergies or require a specific type of food, please let us know ahead of the trip.

9:00 am	We depart from Ciudad Valles, rendezvous point for tourists interested in the exploration of The Huasteca Potosi.
10:00 am	Arrival to the Platanito site where we will head towards Pago Pago to initiate our tour of the class II Micos River.
10:15 am	Presentation. Our guides in charge of Rafting are accredited by the Federal Secretary of Tourism for said activity and each one of them has their certification by the international rafting federation. They are in charge of providing and helping us properly wear the necessary gear for the activity along with a talk reinforcing the 4 international rafting rules.
10:40 am	Once the introductory talk is finished, we will enter the river where our rafting guide will give us a talk on the commands to be used on the raft and we will have some practice in order to better coordinate us.
11:00 am	We will begin our descent into the Micos River, this is a class 2 river, it is fun with continuous rapids; on top of that the river is full of flora and birds that make this path a sight to behold.
12:30 pm	We will be done with the rapids and will enter calm water where we can relax, swim, and enjoy a snack.
2:30 pm	End of Rafting. We will return to Ciudad Valles to eat.
3:30 pm	We will enjoy a nice meal.
4:30 pm	Each tourist will be taken back to their respective hotel.

The Schedule is an approximate and will depend on weather and road conditions.

Nota:

Please notify your guide beforehand in the case of any food restrictions.

Importante:

During the rainy season (July-October), if the river is overflown the activity may not be done, if that is the case then rafting may be done in the Meco River or in the Micos River (whichever is within safe rafting levels)
