Rappelling at Minas Viejas and Waterfall Jump

perro-rappelThe Minas Viejas waterfall measures 50 meters (little over 164 feet), and we will find ourselves surrounded by exuberant vegetation with the most turquoise water holes of the Huasteca region. You descend by rappelling the slope right next to the waterfall. The descent is performed with special braking gear, as well as an additional line supervised and controlled at all times by our guides so that all you do is concentrate on admiring the landscape from another perspective, and if the level of water allows it, we will continue with the waterfall jump at the Micos River.

In the case that the Micos does not have an adequate level of water, we will take you on an excursion to see a 35 meter (almost 115 feet) waterfall, which is called El Meco, and during the rainy season, you will see the “El Salto”, a spectacular 70 meter (over 229 feet) waterfall.

  • Physical activity during the trip is medium.
  • Children 8 years old may attend.
  • Time required is a whole day.
  • Allows for excursion companions to enjoy the beautiful landscape as we perform the activity (different price).
  • Ideal season to visit is all year, except during excessive rainy season. If the river on the Minas Viejas spot is high, and access to swimming is not permitted, or the water does not allow for setting up rappelling equipment, said activity will be canceled, and we will visit different spots, such as the El Meco waterfall, at 35 meters of height, and the El Salto waterfall with 70 meters of height.
  • Requires a minimum of 4 passengers. If you do not comply with the previous, please contact us to check availability.
