Adventure Tourism

hasta el perro se divierte

Adventure tourism consists of outdoor activities that include nature challenges such as natural obstacles; it generates a dosage of adrenaline, and requires specialized guides and equipment.

At huaXteca.com we offer the following adventure activities: Rapids Rafting on the Tampaón River, Rapids Rafting on the Micos River, Rappelling at the Minas Viejas Waterfall, Rappelling at the Tamul Waterfall, Jumping at the Micos Waterfall and much more!

In order to participate in these adventure activities in the Potosinan Huasteca, you do not need to have previous experience. At huaxteca.com you will see that all activities are designed for beginners. Before each activity, we clearly explain each one, and give instructions. Our guides are very friendly in assessing your progress at every step. Practice sessions are performed before the activity, after which we dive into the adventure! If you do not wish to take the adventure or adrenaline type trips, check out our Ecotourism activities.

The adventure activities have certain restrictions:

  • Not appropriate for people with heart problems.
  • Not appropriate for pregnant women.
  • For children there is an age requirement depending on the activity and destination.
  • Not appropriate for people over 110 kilograms (242.508 lbs).
  • Not appropriate for people with back problems.

The best rappelling and rafting equipment in all of Latin America: all the specialized equipment is provided for each activity, except for the sleeping bag and the camping lamp. For the winter season, which is during the dates at which the river levels are at their optimum, we rent wet suits and diving suits, which allow you to preserve your body temperature.

Clothing for activities: you only need comfortable clothing, keeping in mind that we will be wet most of the time. For your feet we recommend water shoes, or shoes of the TEVA type (www.teva.com). If you cannot get those type of shoes, you may use tennis shoes. Do not bring flip flops because they will come off while swimming, and they make it very difficult to walk on the river shores. It is important to bring a second change of clothes for the end of activities, preferably light clothing, except during winter.

You only worry about one thing, having fun!
